Mildred Conway

December 15, 1918 — April 12, 2015

Mildred Conway was born on December 15, 1918, in Mexico, Missouri to her parents, Curtis Williams and Nettie Redmond Williams. She was the second born in the family. She was raised surrounded by the love of her sister, Margaret. As a child, she loved playing and working outdoors. She shared a special closeness with her grandmother and enjoyed helping on the farm. Mildred received her early education in Missouri, where she completed the eighth grade. She was the proud mother of four beautiful children, Scotty, Larry, Nettie and Portia. She was a loving and devoted mother whose pride and joy was the care and nurture of her family. She was later blessed with eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren, who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They all remember her as a great cook who prepared the best dressing in the world for holidays and that she loved them unconditionally. They all shared many happy and precious moments together. By profession, Mildred was a personal home care provider for several families in the area. She was hard-working, dedicated and respected by those she cared for. She retired after many years of faithful and dedicated service. Mildred was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed eating soul food, playing bingo, and being surrounded by family and friends. Her closest friends will miss the many conversations they all shared together and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind, wonderful and amazing woman. To know Mildred was to love her. Mildred Conway departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on April 12, 2015, in her home in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include 2 sons, Scotty W. Goudeau of Denver and Larry D. (Tammy) Williams of Rome, Georgia; 2 daughters, Nettie J. Bardo of Dixon, Illinois and Portia A Williams of Denver; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
