Mary Adam Braxton also known as “AB” was born on January 13, 1927 in New Boston, Texas to her parrents Willie Norma Heade and Adam Braxton. She was the youngest of three girls born to the family (which she never let you forget). She was raised in Vernon, Texas surrounded by her sisters Jo Francis and Rutha Mae they both agreed family. Mary received her education at Booker T. Washington High School in Vernon. Soon after she headed to Denver and changed her name to Mary Alyce.
Mary married and had one daughter, Mary Maxine. Later her five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren were a source of joy, pride, and happiness in her life. Mary truly enjoyed her walk with the Lord and fellowship shared with her church family. Mary was a woman who cared for her family and her home. She loved life and lived to the fullest she enjoyed cooking, shopping, and gardening. She was known as a generous woman and for her straight forward talk and good home cooking. She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her mother Willie Norma, her sister, Jo Frances, her daughter, Mary Maxine, two nephews, Joe Clint and Leonard.
Mary “AB” also known as Mama B departed this life to embrace the Lord on July 16, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Rutha Ford and her 5 grandchildren, Jerry Ray, Precious Kimberley, Gregory Morris, Jonathan Todd, Christopher Ian; 12 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
