Junior Soko

July 4, 1983 — April 15, 2013

The pages of this book began for Junior Soko when he was born on July 4, 1983, in Monrovia, Liberia to his parents, Robert Soko, Sr. and Mary M. Baysah. He was raised by his step father, Benjamin H. Nyanplot. He was the 3rd of 6 children born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Robert, Moses, Winston and his sisters, Priscilla, and Winifred. Growing up in Monrovia, Junior was thoughtful, caring and enjoyed the time shared with his siblings and friends. He loved hunting and fishing on his grandfather's farm. Junior received his early education in Monrovia where he attended the AGM High School. In 2008, Junior united in holy matrimony to the former Eve Neblett. To this union two children, Courage and Yamah were born. He was also the proud father of Felix and Momodu. Junior loved his children unconditionally and the time he shared with them was immeasurable. They remember their father as loving, kind and nurturing. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his children. They loved him more than words can say. Junior relocated to the United States in 2000 and settled in Denver, Colorado. He initially became employed with Frontier Airlines where he worked on the flight line. He then went to work briefly for the Pepsi Company. At his untimely passing, he was employed by Colorado Cab Company aka Denver Yellow Cab Company. His coworkers and employers remember his hard work and dedication. His patrons remember his "service with a smile." He was someone who they could always depend on. He truly enjoyed his job and always went beyond the call of duty to help. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Junior accepted the Lord as his personal savior at a very early age. He believed in the power of Prayer and having the right relationship with the Lord. He attended Christ Vision Ministry International Church in Aurora, Colorado under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Simeon F. Menso. He truly enjoyed his walk with the Lord and fellowship shared with his church family. Junior was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. He enjoyed listening to music, watching soccer on television and having his home as a place to watch sports with his friends. He loved traveling where he could see the beauty of Colorado and the view of the mountains. He was a man who never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He had a smile that would light up any room he entered. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this one of a kind guy who leaves a legacy of love, laughter and fond memories. To know Junior was to love him. Junior Soko departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on April 15, 2013, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include, his children, Courage, Yamah, Felix and Momodu; his mother and father, Mary and Benjamin Nyanplot; his brothers, Robert Soko and Winston Lobo Momo; his sisters, Priscilla Soko Keita and Winifred N. Snoh and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and many friends.
