Johnny Clemons

March 5, 1945 — July 16, 2012

Johnny Clemons was born March 5, 1945, in Levelland, Texas to his parents A.C. and Josie Clemons. Johnny was raised surrounded by a large family of seven sisters. Growing up, he was a loving and caring brother and very protective of his sisters and was known to be a real disciplinarian in his parent's absence. He received his formal education in Lubbock, Texas, where he attended Wheatley Elementary School. He went on to complete high School at Dunbar High School home of the Panthers. Johnny moved to Denver, Colorado and started work at Sears and Roebuck where he worked for the next 35 years. Johnny went back to school later in life and completed school as a Medical Assistant. Johnny said he wanted to be known as a working stiff because he worked two jobs for over 30 years. By profession, Johnny was a supervisor in shipping and receiving at Sears and Roebuck where he worked for 35 years before he retired. During his many years of employment at Sears, you could count the days he missed work on one hand. He was known as a devoted hard worker and respected by all. Johnny accepted the lord as his personal savior. After completing his 4-6 weeks in the hospital for bone cancer, he fully planned to return to the church and actively serve the Lord. Johnny Clemons departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on July 16, 2012, at Saint Luke's Presbyterian Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter LaShone Clemons of Denver; son, Charles S. Taylor of Wichita, Kansas; mother, Josie M. Cooper of Denver; 7 sisters, Lillye Pearl Robinson-Agostini of Aurora; Jessie M. Walker-Smith of Aurora; Ella M. Coney of Denver; Annie Young (Rod Brown) of Arvada; Ella L.
